Will you Seek and Serve Christ in All Persons?

I will with God's Help

There are a variety of ways to get involved at St. Mark's. We gather for worship, fellowship, learning and service. Guilds of skilled people serve in all of our services, as well as on committees who organize our efforts to meet the needs of our congregation and community. We hope you discover your place among us, serving Christ and his people in love.

Our worship guilds offer their time, talent and expertise to provide a beautiful space and sacred experience for all who gather with us to worship God.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild assists the clergy in the care and preparation of the altar and vessels for each of our Eucharist services.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers
LEMs assist the clergy in the service by leading the prayers of the people, the Psalm and bearing the chalice during communion.

Lay Readers

Lay Readers present the Old Testament and New Testament scripture lessons during our Morning services.

Acolytes

Acolytes are young people trained to assist the clergy during worship by performing a variety of essential liturgical duties.

Ushers

Ushers greet people, distribute worship programs and provide information to people as they prepare for worship.

Choirs

Choirs support the congregation in offering prayer and praise through song, as well as providing special musical during the service.

The Vestry is our body of lay leaders who, along with the Clergy, are responsible for the administration of the church. Three members of this nine person body are elected each year to serve a three year term. Any confirmed member of the parish may serve on the vestry.  In order to organize the work of the church the vestry has a number of established committees. Each are led by a chair and staffed by volunteers with passion and interest in these ministries.

Outreach:

This committee engages the parish to meet community needs through grants, in-gatherings and other initiatives.

Pastoral Care:

This committee assists the clergy in meeting immediate pastoral needs of parishioners in crisis or transition.

Christian Formation:
This committee assists the clergy in providing quality formation for all members of the parish.

Budget & Finance:

This committee assists the Treasurer with the financial processes of the parish.

Buildings & Grounds:

This committee assists with the care and upkeep of the physical plant.

Columbarium:

This committee is working to construct and maintain a columbarium for St. Mark’s.

Each of these guilds and committees welcome new members and offer training for service in these areas.  If you have interest in serving in any of these ways please contact a member of the clergy and they will connect you with the relevant leader in that area.
